Arborio Rice is short grain rice variety from Italy and gets it's name from the town Arborio located in the northwestern Italian region of Piedmont.
Due to having a higher content of amylopectin starch than other rice varieties, once cooked, Arborio rice remain firm, but creamy and chewy. This makes them perfect for an authentic Italian Risotto!
Use Arborio rice for starchy desserts, rice pudding or even porridge. You don't need to rinse the rice before cooking (to not loose starch), but if you do, use and cook it as usual shot grain rice.
How To Cook:
- For best results, follow the recipe.
- Bring to boil 1.5 part water to 1 part rice, add salt, little bit of olive oil, then add the rice. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 min.
